The Germans know how to accrue and save money. Immo Strocher, a German businessman, risked an investment of 15 million euros in the construction of the world’s largest solar-powered catamaran Turanor PlanetSolar, which has been built by Knierim Yachtbau Shipyard in Germany. The 31-metre futuristic giant has 38,000 solar cells installed on its 516 sq. m. deck. It holds 50 passengers, with its maximum speed reaching 14 knots. The ship has already circumnavigated the globe, which took her 584 days, with all its power gathered from the sun.
